A women\u2019s team promoting environmental sustainability.<\/strong><\/p>\n

CIAL – Italian Consortium for the Recovery and Recycling of Aluminium Packaging\u00a0–\u00a0will once again be supporting leading sports exponents, particularly in the cycling world, in their role as promoters of an important and increasingly widespread environmental message:<\/p>\n

\u201cProper separate collection of aluminium generates huge benefits for the environment, because aluminium is not only 100% recyclable, but it can also be recycled endlessly, enabling an outstanding 95% of savings in energy and material<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n

In addition to its partnership with the Astana<\/a><\/strong> men’s team, comprising the super champions Vincenzo Nibali and Fabio Aru, this year the Consortium has signed a new agreement with one of the most promising teams in women’s cycling: Footon Servetto, which this year has changed its name to Footon Servetto Alurecycling<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The team – which is a member of UCI – Union Cycliste Internationale<\/a><\/strong>, the world governing body for competitive cycling that comprises national professional cycling federations – will be participating in all the major competitions, including the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France.<\/p>\n

Throughout 2016, the 18 cyclists will be promoting the environmental message on the importance of recycling aluminium, not only in Italy, but all over the world, and especially in Europe. Indeed, it is on this continent that CiAi\u00a0has chosen to promote a series of activities related to the separate collection of aluminium packaging – beverage cans, tins, food trays, tubes, aerosol cans, caps, capsules and even foil – in agreement with other European partners, such as the British AluPro Association<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This environmental message is not just limited to separate waste collection, but also extends to the increasingly shared value of sustainable mobility, a cause that CIAL has espoused for several years now through an iconic symbol of aluminium recycling: the Ricicletta<\/a>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong>, a city \u200b\u200bbike made from 800 recycled aluminium beverage cans.<\/p>\n

Through their races, and through an intense calendar of online and social initiatives, the athletes (7 from Italy and 11 from various other countries) will raise awareness on the strong bond that exists between cycling and respect for the environment.<\/p>\n
